Lend A Hand India, established in 2006 in Pune, Maharashtra, is a non-profit organization working at the intersection of education and livelihood to provide youth with employment and entrepreneurial opportunities. It is a leading organization in the country to introduce skill education as a part of secondary school curriculum. Lend A Hand India’s goal is to contribute in acceleration of India’s development through education and skill development, thereby creating a productive workforce to meet their own aspirations and of their families and communities.
Lend A Hand India promotes an innovative model of skill education: Multi Skill Foundation Course (MSFC) for grades 9th to 12th. MSFC is a job and life skills program, integrating skill training with secondary school curriculum as a 100 marks subject. Lend A Hand India, in collaboration with Govt. of Maharashtra, has obtained approval for the qualification of “Multi Skill Foundation Course” from National Skill Development Authority (NSDA) under National Skill Qualification Framework (NSQF). MSFC now is a Level 2 compliant qualification. This is first of its kind NSQF qualification emerging from the grass roots level.
As of end of 2018, Lend A Hand India reaches to over 4500 secondary schools, across 23 states and union territories in India and helps over 3.8 Lakh students to learn their regular curriculum along with one subject of skill education.
